The Annual Home Tours, hosted by the Old Island Restoration Foundation, offers an exciting opportunity to explore the unique architecture, culture, and history of Key West. Participants contribute to the Foundation's preservation mission through ticket purchases, which vary in price for members, non-members, and door sales. The tours, running from 1 PM to 4 PM, open 20 different residences for exploration each season. These homes represent a range of sizes, ages, architectural features, family histories, and rehabilitation projects, with each one carefully researched to provide accurate and noteworthy details. The tour spans four months starting in December, each month showcasing a new selection of homes. December tours highlight holiday decorations, infusing the homes with the spirit of the season. Upon ticket purchase, an email confirmation instructs participants to pick up their tickets at the Oldest House Museum or a designated property. The self-guided tours include docent introductions at each property, offering overviews of the home's history, special features, furnishings, or art, and an email sent a week prior provides a list of homes included in the tour.
