Calling all garden lovers and tropical daydreamers! Imagine strolling through some of Key West’s most lush, private gardens, usually hidden behind charming fences and walls. Well, here’s your chance. The annual garden tours, hosted by the Key West Garden Club, are back on Friday and Saturday, February 21–22, and they’re offering you exclusive access to five stunning, one-of-a-kind spaces.
Between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on both days, you’ll get to peek behind the scenes of private homes in Key West’s Flagler Avenue area. Each stop on the tour showcases lovingly tended gardens, big and small, bursting with exotic palms, serene water features, sparkling pools, and vibrant tropical blooms that look straight out of a postcard.
What makes the experience even more special? Knowledgeable garden club docents will be on hand at each location to give you the inside scoop. Whether you’re a green thumb or just here for the views, you’ll walk away inspired by their detailed tips and stories about the plants and designs.
Get Your Tickets!
Tickets are just $30 per person if you snag them early on keywestgardenclub.com or at the club’s headquarters, the iconic West Martello Tower, located at 1100 Atlantic Blvd. Didn’t plan ahead? No worries—tickets will also be sold at the garden venues for $35 during the tour days.
A Glimpse into Key West Garden Club’s Legacy
Since the 1950s, the Key West Garden Club has been transforming the historic Civil War-era West Martello Tower into a tropical paradise. Now listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the tower’s grounds feature spectacular orchids, bromeliads, fruit trees, indigenous plants, a butterfly garden, a prehistoric-themed garden, and even a peaceful park. And the best part? It’s open to visitors free of charge from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day except major holidays.
Not only will you get to experience some truly jaw-dropping gardens during the tour, but you’ll also be supporting a great cause. Proceeds from the event fund the maintenance of West Martello Gardens and other local gardening projects.
