Mac McAnally Live at Key West Theater – December 4, 2025
A record-setting ten-time CMA Musician of the Year and a member of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, Mac McAnally is a true legend of American music. With inductions into the Mississippi and Alabama Music Halls of Fame, his career spans decades as a songwriter, singer, and instrumentalist. He has penned chart-topping hits for Alabama, Jimmy Buffett, Kenny Chesney, and Sawyer Brown, while his studio credits include collaborations with Toby Keith, Linda Ronstadt, George Strait, and Dolly Parton.
Since his breakout debut with It’s a Crazy World, McAnally has released 14 albums, the latest being Once in a Lifetime. This record reflects the intimacy of his live performances, blending new songs with unreleased gems from past decades. Rooted in his Mississippi upbringing, the album shines with McAnally’s trademark ability to find the silver lining—whether through reflective storytelling like “Alive and in Between” or uplifting anthems such as “Almost All Good.”
Known for his artistry on the guitar, McAnally builds songs around intricate rhythms and melodies, a style that has carried him through years as both a solo artist and guitarist for Jimmy Buffett’s Coral Reefer Band. His concerts draw a diverse crowd: long-time fans of his solo work, Parrot Heads who know him from the Buffett stage, and country music enthusiasts who recognize his songwriting fingerprints on some of Nashville’s biggest hits.
The new album bridges genres, from quirky storytelling reminiscent of his ’70s contemporaries, to island-inspired tracks like “Just Right” (recorded in Key West with Buffett’s Coral Reefer Band), to the poignant and poetic “Changing Channels,” co-written with Buffett in 1989. He even tips his hat to The Beatles with a stripped-down rendition of “Norwegian Wood.”
Once in a Lifetime captures the full breadth of McAnally’s artistry—country, gospel, island, and beyond—all tied together by his heartfelt perspective. Whether through nostalgic storytelling, buoyant melodies, or quietly powerful reflections, his music continues to inspire, uplift, and connect.
Don’t miss an unforgettable evening with one of America’s most celebrated musicians.
