In 2024, Key West will host its annual Second Line Procession on September 1st, a vibrant event dedicated to celebrating the life and legacy of music icon Jimmy Buffett. This unique procession, which debuted in 2023 following Buffett's passing at 76 after a battle with skin cancer, encapsulates the essence of Key West and Buffett's spirit through music, stories, and his favorite things - rum, music, and stories. The procession will feature:

• A Route Down Duval Street: Duval Street will be closed for the event, allowing participants to make three stops along the way, each one a tribute to Buffett's life.
• Benefits to Charities: Proceeds from the event will support the Bahama Village Music Program and the Coral Restoration Foundation.
• Food and Live Entertainment: Attendees can enjoy street food and live music, including a concert at the Coffee Butler Amphitheater, which holds significance as the venue where Buffett got his first gig.
• A Reflection of the Previous Year's Success: The 2023 procession saw an impressive turnout, with an estimated 9,000 people participating, some in colorful and extravagant outfits, embodying the laid-back, festive spirit of Buffett's music.
